Pillars
of King Solomon
Part
of our altar miniatures collection. Perfect for those who have limited space,
need to put their altar away after each use or want sacred items that are portable
for travel.
The concept of pillars is a very old one in the esoteric
arts and signifies duality and polarity. They are universal symbols used by Freemasons,
Pagans, Occultists and Kabblah practitioners. These are the same pillars seen
in most Tarot decks in the background of the High Priestess card.
Entry into Solomon’s Temple was gained between the great
pillars of Jachin and Boaz. Jachin means "He will establish," and Boaz, means
"strength" (2 Chron 3:17). The Right-hand of the two, as seen when facing them,
is the Pillar of Severity, and the Left-Hand of the two is the Pillar of Mercy.
The Pillar of Severity is known as the Silver Pillar and is the active, male,
or projective pillar that represents the Sun. The Left-hand Pillar of Mercy is
the Black Pillar which is the passive, female, or receptive pillar that represents
the Moon. The energy created between them is deemed the Middle Pillar, or the
Pillar of Mildness - Equilibrium.
This set are poly cast, 6" tall and 1 3/8" diameter. Gold
and silver detail on the capitals. They can be painted and further detailed with
acrylic and enamel paints. A creation of Invictus Alchemy. They make a beautiful,
meaningful backdrop for ritual space.
