A combination of Christian and Santeria symbols, the Mexican talisman
is an all-purpose home and personal defense system. The red satin background,
packets of powder and herbs and religous images are all typically found on such
talismans. Portraits of San Martin Caballero are probably the most frequently
seen symbols. He does double duty as the Christian protector of money and goods
and as the Santeria orisha Eleggua.
Most of these Talisman have a prayer like the Oración de la
Herradura, the Prayer of the Horseshoe, on the back. Each amulet is different
as they are handmade pieces of art.

to your favorite saint as a reminder of the petitioner's particular need, or are
